In conjunction with an OBDX Pro scantool, our ECUHero application lets you have professional reprogramming capabilities at a fraction of the cost of overpriced factory tools.
ECUHero is designed to be extremely easy to use. It seamlessly interacts with your cars engine computer (ECM) to allow reprogramming options or replacing faulty units.
Some of the features and abilities of our software includes:
- Read/Write VIN
- Read/Write SRI
- Read/Write SKIM Status
- Read/Write EEPROM
- Read/Write Flash Memory
We aim to continue adding capabilities abilities that even dealership software is unable to do.
Which ECUs are Supported?
The current supported automotive manufacture is FCA which includes Chrysler, Dodge, Ram, Jeep and Fiat ECUs.

*Note: 2018+ Vehicles will require bypassing the gateway using a 12+8 Cable, connecting at the star connector or Bench programming.
What scantool is required?
The OBDX Pro scantools are the only tool that ECUHero supports at this time.
The two main tools that we support and recommend are:
- OBDX Pro FT
- OBDX Pro GT
These tools also support ELM327 and J2534 standards allowing them to be used with hundreds of other programs including dealership applications, making them one of the most versatile tools on the market.

Frequently asked questions
We only support using the OBDX Pro scantools. This has been done to allow future support to smartphone applications and even remote programming over the internet.
Each ECU requires 1 Hero Token to license which grants access to modifying options and flashing memory/eeprom.
If wanting to clone an ECU to another ECU would require 2 tokens, as both the original and replacement ECU would need to be licensed.
If you read the details from a brand new ECU, then this could be written into second hand ECUs to make them virgin (For ECUs that support EEPROM writing only).
Unfortunately we do not have an outright option, we wanted the entry cost low, thus went with token based system which is a fraction of the cost of using dealership software.
These tokens also allow us to keep developing and adding new ECU support and capabilities.
We do however offer bulk token discounts so do please contact if this is of interest!

At this time we are focusing on FCA based ECUs, but will move into GM and other manufactures shortly after.
We currently can ship OBDX Pro tools from United States and Australia.

Yes it is safe to use. Our software protection can be incorrectly flagged by antivirus unfortunately. You will have to add the software to the safe list to allow it to run.
The false flags occur due to our software not having a signing certificate yet, along with its internet requirement and software protection.
software licensing
ECUHero is a token based application where each ECU must be licensed using a token (Hero Tokens). Currently all supported ECUs cost 1 Hero Token to license and use all features of the application.
