Can I use a different scantool?
No. ECU Hero only works with the OBDX Pro FT. That’s deliberate: it opens the door to smartphone apps and even remote programming over the internet down the track.
How many tokens does each ECU need?
It depends on the ECU. Licensing an ECU unlocks every option on it, plus flash and EEPROM writing.
Cloning one ECU to another means licensing both the original and the replacement ECU.
Can I make an ECU virgin with ECU Hero?
Yes. Our industry-leading Prepare for Adaption feature sets the ECU back to a virgin state, so it can be adapted to the vehicle using OEM software.
Is there an outright purchase option?
Not at the moment. Tokens keep the entry cost low, a fraction of what dealership software costs, and they fund new ECU support and features.

My antivirus flags ECU Hero. Is it safe?
Yes, it’s safe. The ECU Hero installer is code-signed, but our software protection can still be wrongly flagged by some antivirus programs. If that happens, add ECU Hero to your safe list to let it run.
The false flags happen because the app needs the internet and uses software protection.
