Does ECU Hero work with other scantools?
No. ECU Hero only works with the OBDX Pro FT. That’s deliberate: it opens the door to smartphone apps and even remote programming over the internet down the track.
Which phones and computers does it work with?
Windows PCs over USB, Android phones over Classic Bluetooth, BLE or Wi-Fi, and iPhones and iPads over BLE or Wi-Fi. ECU Hero itself runs on a Windows 10 or Windows 11 laptop.
Can I use it with FORScan or Ford FJDS?
Yes. J2534 support comes standard, so it works with dealer-grade tools such as Ford’s FJDS, with FORScan, and with other J2534 software such as PCMTec.
Will it work with my ELM327 app?
Most likely. Legacy ELM327 command support makes it compatible with hundreds of diagnostic apps for smartphones and Windows PCs, including Torque, DashCommand and ScanXL.
Does it get updates?
Yes, free for life. Firmware upgrades bring new protocol support and changes to the tool you already own.
